Shaping the future of Cancer Care at AROICON 2024

RCHRC showcased its commitment to advancing oncology at the 2nd AROICON 2024, contributing to ground-breaking discussions on personalised cancer care alongside esteemed national experts.

Ranchi Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (RCHRC) proudly participated in the 2nd AROICON, organised by the Association of Radiation Oncologist of India, Jharkhand Chapter 2024. Held from July 20-21 at Hotel Le Lac Sarovar in Ranchi, it saw an impressive turnout with a total of 92 participants, including 55 oncologists! The theme of this year’s conference was “From Standard of Care to Personalized Care”.

The conference was presided by Dr Raj Kumar, Director & CEO, Prof. Neurosurgery, RIMS, Ranchi. Representatives from pharmaceutical companies and medical device firms played a significant role in the conference, contributing to the exchange of cutting-edge knowledge and advancements in oncology.

The conference was graced by esteemed national speakers, including Padmashree Dr J K Singh, Director, S S Hospital Kanerbagh, Patna, Dr Manoj Gupta, Dean, AIIMS Rishikesh, Dr V Srinivasan, HOD Radiation Oncology, MIOT International Hospital, Chennai, Dr Swarupa Mitra, Director and Unit Head in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI), Gurugram, Dr Surendra Nath Senapati, Prof. and HOD, SCB Medical College Cuttack, Dr Gautam K Sharan, Medical Director, HOD and Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital, Jamshedpur and experts from Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), Mumbai. These luminaries shared their invaluable insights and latest research findings, enhancing the overall learning experience for attendees.

A notable highlight of the event was the robust participation from within the state of Jharkhand, representing various disciplines such as surgical, radiation, and medical oncology. From RCHRC, Dr Amitesh Anand, Dr Sachender Pal Singh, Dr Purnima Maggi Dean, Dr Rajanigandha Tudu, and Dr Deepak Kumar participated as chairperson and as panelists in various sessions related to head and neck cancer, breast and cervical cancer, AI in oncology and various case-based discussions. Their presence underscored the commitment of local medical professionals to advancing cancer care and research. In addition to oncologists, the conference also saw active involvement from radiologists and pathologists, further broadening the scope of discussions and collaborations.

The 2nd AROICON Jharkhand Chapter 2024 provided an excellent platform for participants to engage in meaningful dialogue, share best practices, and explore new strategies for improving cancer treatment and patient outcomes. The sessions covered various topics, including the latest advancements in oncology, innovative treatment methodologies, and the importance of multidisciplinary approaches in cancer care.

The event was a resounding success, fostering a spirit of cooperation and knowledge-sharing among medical professionals.
