3rd Annual Day Celebration at Ranchi Cancer Hospital and Research Centre

Ranchi Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (RCHRC) celebrated its 3rd Annual Day with great enthusiasm and pride, commemorating three years of dedicated service towards providing accessible, affordable, and quality cancer care to the people of Jharkhand and neighbouring regions. In a short span of time, the hospital has emerged as a beacon of hope for cancer patients by bridging the gap in access to advanced oncology treatment closer to home, while continuing to treat patients with compassion, dignity, and patient-centric care.

The celebration was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Satyajit Pradhan, Former Director of Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Centre, Varanasi.

The Guests of Honour included Dr. Vijay Kumar Mishra, Chairman, Critical Care Medicine at Bhagwan Mahavir Manipal Hospitals, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Director of Rani Hospital, Brahmachari Saumyanand from Yogda Satsang, and Ajay Kumar Jaiswal, Founder of ASHA Foundation (Association for Social and Human Awareness).

Senior leadership members from Tata Cancer Care Foundation who attended the celebration included Dr. Shailesh V. Shrikhande, Chief Executive, Kumar Nandula, Chief Financial Officer, Asit Bhalerao, Head – Human Resources, Dr. Rudradatta Shrotriya, Head – Commissioning and Operations, and Jemi Pullanthara, Head – Nursing, along with other HR team members.

The programme began with hospital rounds for the dignitaries; adding vibrancy to the celebrations, various hospital departments participated in a rangoli competition. This was followed by the inauguration of the hospital’s second LINAC machine by Dr. Shrikhande and Kumar Nandula. The addition of the second LINAC machine marks a major step forward in strengthening radiation oncology services and expanding access to advanced cancer treatment for patients across Jharkhand.

A special moment during the celebration was when all the members of Tata Cancer Care Foundation paid tribute to the visionary Tata pioneers whose legacy of philanthropy and nation-building laid the foundation for institutions such as Tata Trusts, Tata Memorial Centre and Tata Cancer Care Foundation, dedicated to the betterment of society and advancing accessible healthcare for all.

The dignitaries then came together for the ceremonial lamp lighting and cake cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of three impactful years of service.

The formal programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Gautam Kumar Sharan, Medical Director, RCHRC, who reflected on the hospital’s journey and its commitment to delivering holistic cancer care with empathy and excellence.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Shrikhande shared the future roadmap for the institution and encouraged the team to continue striving for higher standards in patient care and community service every year. Chief Guest Dr. Satyajit Pradhan inspired the audience with his words on hard work, discipline, and the pursuit of excellence in healthcare.

The event also featured a colourful cultural programme presented by staff members, including a welcome song, Jharkhandi tribal dance, solo dance performances, singing performances, Bengali dance, and an energetic South Indian dance performance that reflected the diversity and unity of the hospital family.

One of the highlights of the programme was the certificate distribution ceremony for the Oncology Nursing Certification Program – TCCF Batch 1, led by Dr. Shrikhande and Jemi Pullanthara. Employees were also recognised and honoured during the Reward and Recognition ceremony conducted by the HR team and felicitation was done by guests of honour, appreciating their dedication and valuable contribution towards patient care and hospital services.

The programme concluded with the felicitation of all the guests, followed by a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Amitesh Anand. The celebration ended on a joyful note with a group photograph and lunch shared by all attendees.
