BSNL Employees become Cancer-aware with RCHRC

RCHRC's Cancer Awareness Session at Telephone Bhawan, Ranchi educated employees on prevention, detection, and healthcare resources, fostering proactive health management.

Ranchi Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (RCHRC) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) came together on 29th February, 2024, to host a cancer awareness session at the Telephone Bhawan in Ranchi. The session aimed to equip BSNL employees with essential knowledge about cancer prevention and healthcare resources.

The event commenced with an insightful overview, shedding light on Tata Trusts' Cancer Care Programme and RCHRC's mission, emphasising accessible cancer care and subsidised treatment rates for residents of Jharkhand and Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries. Dr Manisha, Consultant Palliative Medicine at RCHRC followed with an in-depth discussion on cancer incidence, symptoms, risk factors and the critical role of early detection.

The hospital introduced the "Know Your Health" an initiative by Tata Cancer Care Foundation, stressing on proactive health management strategies. A specialised session for female BSNL employees, led by Dr Manisha, addressed gender-specific cancer concerns, enhancing awareness among participants.

Attendees praised the informative sessions, expressing a newfound understanding of cancer prevention and the importance of regular health check-ups. BSNL Ranchi unit's General Manager, Umesh Sah, commended RCHRC for their insightful contributions, highlighting the significance of such initiatives in combating the rising tide of cancer cases.

The integration of online participation expanded the session's reach, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all. This collaborative effort exemplified a shared commitment to promoting health awareness and proactive healthcare practices among BSNL employees.
