Ranchi Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (RCHRC), in collaboration with the Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Maha Sabha (ABKMS) Foundation, recently organised a comprehensive cancer awareness session and screening camp at Satyabhama Grand Apartments.
The session, led by Dr Manisha, Consultant, Palliative Medicine, RCHRC; witnessed an active participation from 35 residents. Dr Manisha emphasised the importance of proactive health management, early detection, and lifestyle diseases treatment, particularly in the context of cancer. Dispelling common myths including the misguided belief that the treatment is more challenging than the disease itself, she shed light on symptoms of different cancer types and stressed the significance of regular health check-ups for timely intervention.
In addition to the awareness session, the RCHRC team introduced the audience to the Cancer Care Program by the Tata Trusts, providing insights into RCHRC's commitment to delivering affordable and comprehensive cancer care. They also presented 'Know Your Health,' an initiative by RCHRC, promoting a healthy lifestyle and informed health practices.
To further the cause, the hospital’s outreach team conducted screenings for blood pressure, blood glucose levels, oral health, and breast and cervical cancer during the camp.
The event was spearheaded by Mrs Manjusha Sahay, President of the Women's Forum at ABKMS Foundation, and an executive member of the Trailblazing Entrepreneurs Federation of India (TEFI). She appreciated the RCHRC team for organising the camp, empowering individuals with knowledge, and inspiring proactive health measures in the fight against cancer.
